This announcement will be used to establish a standing register for Helicopter Pilots at Payband 1 and 2 levels and Flight Instructors at Payband 2 level. All positions filled at payband 1 will have promotion potential to payband 2. This standing register will be used to fill potential positions at these AFRC locations as vacancies occur. PCS costs may or may not be paid. Your application will remain on file for one year unless you are selected for a position. This is an Air Reserve Technician Officer position. Air Reserve Technicians are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits afforded to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, Air Reserve Technicians are required to maintain active membership in the Air Force Reserve unit so long as they occupy Air Reserve Technician positions. As members of reserve units, Air Reserve Technicians receive on the average one weekend of military training per month. In addition, they are eligible for 15 days active duty tour each year for which military leave is granted with full civilian pay. Air Reserve units and members are subject to immediate call to active duty in mobilization to meet a national emergency. Retired military are usually ineligible for membership in the Air Force Reserve. Retired military personnel who have active Air Force Reserve assignments may apply provided they show assignment (position and unit) on their application. Salary range above does not include local market supplement. Local market supplement is additional pay to address labor market factors. Actual starting salary will depend upon factors such as applicant's qualifications, the availability of funds, and will be at the discretion of the selecting official.
