You will join an elite group of approximately 130 Navy Clinical Psychologists who care for Active Duty and retired servicemembers and their families in a wide variety of settings. That could involve inpatient care, outpatient care and substance abuse programs serving patients in military hospitals and clinics in the U.S. or overseas.
Navy psychologists have the exciting prospect of holding unique positions that are not available to civilian psychologists. Such opportunities may include working aboard aircraft carriers, assisting special operational units (such as the Navy SEALS) and serving on the faculty at the Naval Academy or with White House personnel. And you could potentially supervise training at one of the Navy's APA-accredited internship programs.

WHAT IT TAKES TO JOIN
To qualify for an Active Duty Clinical Psychology position in the Navy Medical Service Corps, you must:
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Have completed an APA-accredited doctoral program (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in clinical or counseling psychology
- Have completed an APA-accredited internship (waivers may be available on a case-by-case basis)
- Possess a current state license
- Be willing to serve a minimum of three years of Active Duty
- Be between the ages of 18 to 42
- Be in good physical condition and pass a full medical examination
